Sorry (I Broke Your Arms
and Legs) Is Chaotic,
Competitive, and Honestly a
Bit Unhinged (In a Good Way)
There’s something deeply funny about taking something
very serious… and treating it with absolutely no
seriousness at all.
That’s exactly the energy behind Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs), landing at
Pleasance London this spring. It’s fast, ridiculous, and built around a premise that
feels instantly familiar, the desperate, slightly unhinged race to become Head Boy.
Because of course Sam Wilson, Class 8C, thinks he deserves it.
He’s got the PowerPoint to prove it.
What unfolds is a high-speed, high-energy dive into school politics,
playground rivalries, and the kind of overblown ambition that only really exists
when you’re thirteen and absolutely convinced this really matters.
And somehow, it does.
Created by Maybe You Like It, the show leans fully into its format, a live
PowerPoint presentation that spirals into something far more theatrical, chaotic and
inventive than it has any right to be. It’s slick, it’s sharp, and it never sits still for long.
The humour lands because it recognises something universal. That
awkward, competitive, slightly feral energy of school life, where popularity,
power, and reputation are everything, even if only for a few weeks.
Add in a bit of scheming, a lot of escalation, and the looming question of
whether someone might actually end up injured along the way, and you’ve got a
show that keeps you leaning forward the whole time.
It’s also properly playful. The kind of comedy that isn’t afraid to be silly, but
knows exactly what it’s doing underneath. Every beat is tight, every moment
feels intentional, even when things spiral.
At just 60 minutes, it’s quick, punchy, and very easy to slot into a night out, or
kick one off.
And if you’re into theatre that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still
delivers something smart, inventive and genuinely funny, this one’s an easy yes.
