Yoga: Why Men Keep
Coming Back to
Brewer Street Yoga
For many men, the idea of walking into a yoga class can
feel intimidating. Too flexible. Too advanced. Too full of
people who seem to know exactly what they’re doing.
At Brewer Street Yoga, things are different.
Tucked away in the heart of Soho, Brewer Street Yoga has built something
that goes beyond downward dogs and stretching sessions. It’s created a
welcoming, male-focused community where men of all ages, backgrounds
and abilities can improve their physical health, support their mental wellbeing
and make genuine connections.
For one long-term student, yoga began out of necessity.
“As a regular cyclist and gym-goer, I realised in my fifties that my lack of
stretching was catching up with me,” he says. “My body felt increasingly stiff and
I knew I needed to take action.”
After struggling to find classes that catered to men’s
bodies and different levels of flexibility, he discovered allmale yoga sessions and never looked back.
“Almost immediately, I found myself part of a
supportive community of men from all walks of life. Now
in my sixties, I have no back problems, I can easily touch
my toes and I can balance comfortably on one leg. The
camaraderie and sense of achievement nourish my
mental wellbeing as much as my body.”
That sense of community is something members
mention time and time again.

Runner and gym enthusiast Roman first came to
Brewer Street Yoga looking for help with tight muscles
and better balance. What he found was something
entirely unexpected.
“I imagined it would be filled with high-testosterone and macho men, each
attempting to outdo the other. But boy was I wrong!”
“From the very first moment I stepped into the studio, it radiated warmth
and friendliness. The instructors wanted to understand my needs and help me
develop at my own pace.”
Eight years later, Roman is still attending classes with friends he met during
those early sessions.
“I feel as if I am in my second home. We chat, we practise, we laugh a lot and
we really enjoy the classes. It doesn’t matter how good or how bad you are, we
are all treated the same.”
Brewer Street Yoga offers a wide range of classes, from dynamic vinyasa
sessions and deep stretch classes to beginner-friendly courses and workshops.
Whether you’re looking to improve flexibility, support your fitness routine,
manage stress or simply meet new people, there’s a place for you on the mat.
In a city that can sometimes feel disconnected, Brewer Street Yoga proves
that wellbeing isn’t just about movement. It’s also about finding your people.
