Returning to London after a sold-out run in
2023, Jock Night takes a peek at what goes
down at Manchester’s afterparties…
Anybody who’s ever caught the Avanti West Coast up to Manchester for a
naughty weekend will be only too familiar with the fact that they sure know how
to have a good time up north. It’s this taste for unbridled gay hedonism that’s the
driving force behind Jock Night.
Produced by Hive North, this play follows a cast of five guys over a year of
after-parties following wild nights out in the Gay Village. The script gets into
the nitty-gritty of modern clubbing and chemsex culture, but there are plenty
of Victoria Wood gags, Corrie references and heartwarming moments of
connection in there, too.
The show enjoyed a sell-out run at Seven Dials Theatre back in 2023
and gained a pair of Offie nominations in the process. This month, it’s
back for another go, with actor David Paisley returning in the main role,
accompanied by James Colebrook, Eddie Ahrens, Gabriel Clark and none
other than Olympic gold-medal diver Matthew Mitcham. Needless to say,
all of these will be stepping out in little more than
a harness and jockstrap. We thought that might
sway your decision.
